Rocky Sullivan and the Dead End Kids.

Angels with Dirty Faces" is a classic 1937 movie. It is an American crime film directed by Michael Curtiz with the talents of James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart. The film tells the story of two childhood friends, Rocky Sullivan (Cagney) and Jerry Connolly (Pat O'Brien), who grew up in Hell's Kitchen, a rough and impoverished neighborhood in New York City.

Rocky and Jerry hang out together. On one particular day, they are trying to steal some items from a train. They break in on one of the wagons but are soon discovered by a train foreman. The foreman summons the police while the boys make a run for it. Rocky gets caught while Jerry escapes. As a result, he spends time in a reform school.

Years pass by, and Rocky becomes a notorious gangster. He connects with a crooked lawyer named James Frazier (Humphrey Bogart). He and Frazier are into shady criminal dealings. The lawyer, trying to save himself, convinces his client Rocky to take the blame and do time. Sullivan accepts it because his lawyer has his $100,000 set aside and will make the connections when he gets out.

Meanwhile, his friend Jerry becomes a priest. When Rocky returns to Hell's Kitchen after a stint in prison, he reconnects with his old friend Jerry. Afterward, He manages to track down Frazier and wants him to fulfill his end of the bargain. One thing leads to another, and he meets the Dead End kids during that transition.

Jerry is mentoring the Dead End Kids to steer them on the right path, but Rocky's criminal lifestyle draws them as a magnet. They like his defiant and slick ways. As Rocky's influence over the kids grows, he must decide whether to continue down his path of crime or try to help the kids take the right direction.

This film is unique because it depicts Hell's Kitchen's harsh urban environment. The "Dead End Kids," a group of young actors who played the delinquent youths, became famous for their roles in the film. They appeared in several other films in the 1930s and 1940s.
